» Feature Writer Brian Tubbs - Writer's Block

I think you're right about writer's block. I'm trying my hand now at writing a YA fantasy novel and two scripts (one a historical film and the other a light fantasy drama).

I realize I have a better chance of winning the lottery than selling either script to Hollywood, but screenwriting is something I've dreamed about and thought about for a long time. I want to FINISH at least one of them this year - and enter it in a contest. That will be an accomplishment, even if I don't win anything.

Right now, I'm trying to work on character building and plotting/outlining. I'm inexperienced in this, so it's been frustrating. I want to dive right in, but I can't. Lots of writer's block. I'm finding, however, that the more prepared I am to write a scene -- the better it comes.

Glad I stumbled onto your site.
