But otherwise, I haven't completely upgraded my life.
Take my writing tools, for instance. I write my articles and scripts in MS Word. The articles are later translated to html. But the scripts remain in Word. I create storyboards, but they're in Powerpoint. But I'm getting there.
One reason for using the tools I do is simple: they work. And if something's not broken ... well, you know the rest. Especially when that something still works. I've created templates and styles so that I can apply them to my documents and have the final result I'm looking for.
But, as I found out in the past few weeks, there are tools out there that do all I need and much, much more. In my recent article, I explored a scriptwriting tool called Sophocles, and was delighted at all the additional features it provided, which I had been doing manually for years, or not doing at all.
So keep watching this space as I bring myself (and you readers) up to speed on some of the tools and toys that we can employ in the further development of our craft.
