Here's a website that can offer lots of resources, advice, and even connections to help your writing.
The site is called ScriptForSale.com. It contains articles and interviews, classes, a twice-monthly newsletter, and many more resources.
There are also different levels of visiting, as a guest, or as a member. The membership is free and opens up more possibilities, opportunities, and resources. It provides access to more articles, and offers discounts for classes.
An interesting aspect of the membership registration was that there were two questions as part of the process. One was regarding my goals, and the other was about the biggest problems I'm facing in my screenwriting. While I did receive a welcoming email from the site, it did not refer to either of these questions, although maybe that's something that comes later.
The articles pages included titles such as, How to Write a Screenplay that Sells, Career Strategies for Screenwriters, and The Mystery of Subtext. These were among the 10 or so articles for everyone.
Among the 25 or so member-only articles were Your First Page Sells Your Script, Want Representation?, Why Scripts Get Turned Down, and 22 Ways to Improve Your Screenwriting.
I found this website through the Final Draft newsletter, which is also a very helpful resource, not only about the Final Draft software, but with writing tips and information about contests and submissions.
Knowledge is power, and communications provide knowledge. Keeping up to date with what the Internet can offer can only help the writer looking for ways to increase productivity, polish writing, and discover additional opportunities for success.
So keep you eyes and modems open for additional resources, writing pages, and similar sites. And let me know of any you encounter that you'd like me to cover.
